EPISODE #122
It’s a Sunday and that means it’s time for the Sunday social ride… but this isn’;t just the usual Sunday social for me, it’s a little bit ion a sad time in a way. It was my last ever ride in the UK… well for a little while at least.
I’ve now packed up my bags and headed off in search of a better life over in the beautiful country of Portugal. But I couldn’t leave without one last dance with the lads. And it didn’t disappoint.
Things started out a little sedate and actual “social” for once… but that was shortly lived, instigated quite largely by myself the ride turns into a bit of an attack fest on the way home, making for a lot of fun and a great work out. I wouldn’t have had my last ride any other way.
There are some things if the UK that I will certainly miss, this group of great guys will definitely be one if them, but the new adventures begin now… and I’m so excited!

    1. Great vid thomas hopefully not the last seems like a good bunch of lads you ride with , them roads look relatively flat about as flat as a tortilla apart from the 1mile hill

    2. Having just done the mega pretzel on Zwift yesterday…it literally felt like I was on the trainer for months so I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂

    3. Sad to see the state of the TCT Wagon! I was a big fan of her 🙏 glad the family is okay though. Haven't been following long but curious as to why Portugal? Family ties, or just fell in love with the place on your visit, or just why not? Wishing you all the best!

    4. Awesome Riding Guys! no I never did like winter riding!! looking forward to your new adventures in Portugal Thomas and hope you and the family are all recovering well! stay safe! 🙏

    5. Great vid as always 😊, that was a shit start to Portugal, but like the Portuguese sais “The rings go, the fingers remain” .
And welcome to Portugal 🇵🇹 😊

    6. Agree Zwift is 💩 but stops me getting fat during Winter and serves a purpose. Congrats on the move and looking forward to future content. Glad you are all fine after the car crash

    7. How would you rate Essex as a TT bike location, i like riding in the TT position generally and not just for time trials but there's only really one route near me that has decent roads and few hills. Would be nice to get a locals insight.

    8. Good luck on the new adventure in Portugal. Having lived there for 10 years and just moved back to the uk. Please please get all the legal stuff in place before it’s too late. Get your NIF number asap. If you live there more than 6 months it’s illegal to drive on a uk license. Money earnt outside of PT you have to pay 3% to the pt tax government. That’s just a few key things to know. Any way of helping others not get caught out is a bonus. Portugal is absolutely stunning and amazing to live but finding out some do and don’t asap helps you get a long way. Enjoy bro. Road cycling there is absolutely heavenly 👍👍👍👍

    9. Take it as a GREAT sign. New car, new place, new content, etc… new things out in the horizon, new things that will bear fruit in so many ways that the loss will be a blessing. Theirs a saying that when i heard for the first time made want to fight harder. "May The Best Days Of Your Past Be The Worst Days Of Tomorrow!" And if you living the best days today, imagine tomorrow.

    10. great videos …is it my imagination but are some of you guys riding with some real reach …. noticed some long stems and very straight arms ? is this a trend for you guys or just the bikes your on? ..cheers

    11. You will be back mate the novelty of being abroad wears off after the 1st year lol!. You will miss your regular riding mates as well!. Seriously hope i am wrong and wish you and the family all the best.

    12. I agree trainers are boring, and creates illusion of fake space, and time, I get much more tired on trainer within 30 minutes than cycling for hours outdoor. The level of fresh air, and movenemnt of landscape helps a lot.
