7 Oct 2019. In the first photo in this series, the village on top of the ridgeline is Vrgorac, that’s where I spent the night at the end of day 47. Vrgorac is in Croatia, on the border of Bosnia. When I took that photo I was still in Croatia but only for about 2-3 more minutes once I was rolling again, the border station wasn’t far away, a single guard shack and a friendly giant of a dude that checked my passport, smiled, and welcomed me to Bosnia (and Herzegovina). From the border I followed secondary roads, sometimes goat tracks, all the way to Mostar where I rolled onto the oil (pavement) after a short visit in that ancient city. The next section all the way to Konjic was the hardest ride of my life on a bike. See video for more details.
