The official route for the 111th Tour de France was shown off on Wednesday at Paris’s Palais des Congrès. Once again, race organisers ASO chose a path that favours climbers over riders on wheels.
Around seven good chances are there for sprinters, and the scenery is good for puncheurs and baroudeurs. But as the race gets closer to its end, the focus shifts to the mountains.
Five summit finishes is the highest number possible. At the end of the second week, Pla d’Adet and Plateau de Beille happen back-to-back in the Pyrenees. The following week, Superdévoluy, Isola 2000, and La Colmiane all happen in the Alps.

What kind of bike was that @thecyclingdane?? Cruiser bike up a hill 😂😂
this race route is perfect for the @thecyclingdane team. boys, get your skin suits ready! i’m picking Scott to usher in the next wave of Danish dominance. jonas can’t compete, especially with super domestiques Patrick and Ewan supporting. go for yellow! GLORY IS OURS!
I think it is way too hard for riders. Remco will be out of gc battle after the first week
14 gravel sections. 6 within the final 35 kms.
lots of very short explosive stages at the end.. for the Final TT they will start on Road bike and switch to TT bike at top of climb right after steepest part at km 17..
Bring injury or mechanical, this one has Jonas written all over him. Who is honestly supposed to beat him on a route like this.
The stage combo 14/15 and the 19-21 is just wicked. And it is wickedly designed for him.
Where's Ewan? This new guy sucks.
I would like to know if it is allowed to change the bike on the last TT form a mountain to a TT bike
