Dutch people have been dealing with water since ancient times due to the special geographical features of the Netherlands.

The Dutch way of life is fascinating because they have had to adapt to the unpredictable forces of nature and have also developed technology to protect themselves from natural disasters, such as pumping water out to create living space.

The capital city of the Netherlands, Amsterdam, is also unique in other ways. There are more bicycles than cars on the roads, which helps reduce the risk of accidents and creates safer streets, especially for children.

  1. I don't mean to be a bother, but what's the origin of the name Robloak? Does it stand for anything?

And is this the first comment?

  2. "Build a cycling lane first and cyclists will follow" is not the Dutch concept. If the Dutch had waited for cycling infrastructure they wouldn't have got it because it's only built to meet demand. That is done well but that doesn't make it the other way around.
See level risis with a steady 1.8 mm per year, so in a 100 years it will go from 6.76 m below sea level to 6.94 m below sea level. It seems to me that coastal countries that are only 18cm above sea level are much more at risk the coming century.
