It’s SO NICE to get out and ride to do errands in the Fall! Just look at this beauty along Wavell Street.

It’s different taking in the sights, sounds, and smells on a bicycle than it is when in a car – even with the windows open. Part of that is probably because you’re not moving your body in a car, so you obviously lose heat and inevitably close the windows 😅

But really, as the seasons change to cooler and colder temperatures, if you keep riding, you start to realize that frostbiking is pretty easy for all but maybe 10 to 20 days of the year. We’re not into Winter biking just yet, though. We’re still in Fall!

For reference, we just got our first snowfall in London Ontario on Halloween evening (Oct 31). The snow won’t stay longer than a few days… but even if it did, people can still ride their bikes for the next few months. It’s not as if “OH MY GOODNESS, IT SNOWED! I CAN’T BIKE ANYMORE!” That’s not how that works.

We might switch over to studded tires within the next week, depending on the forecast, but they’re pretty loud when there’s no snow or ice, so I try to wait as long as possible before swapping out summer tires for winter studded tires.

Anyway, I’m glad I captured this 20-second moment of a perfect sunset last week ♥🌇

    1. A strobe light does not make you more visible. It makes you visible 50% of the time, making it harder for other road users to correctly recognise where you are going and at what speed.

    2. In Michigan it goes from summer to winter.. It's really annoying. I had one 70° day this fall and now it's already snowing 😒
