Tauernradweg (Tauern Bike Trail)
17-23 June 2015

The Tauernradweg starts in Krimml and follows the river Salzach to Salzburg. After Salzburg the Tauernradweg follows the Salzach and later on the Inn to Passau. The Tauernradweg starts in Austria and ends in Germany.
We have cycled an alternative: We have started in Uttendorf. The first day we have biked to the start of the Tauernradweg: Krimml. After a short visit at the waterfalls we went back to Uttendorf. From Uttendorf we have made a tour. We have biked to Salzburg along the Salzach. From Salzburg we went back to the south along the river Saalach to Zell am See. In Zell am See we took the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn (the lokal train) back to Uttendorf.
In total we have biked 342 km. We were surprised that the gpx files recorded 4.051 hm. If you want to make this tour as well, I can share you the gpx files.
The highlights of the tour, so what you must see in the tour are:
– Waterfalls of Krimml,
– Liechtensteinklamm,
– Burg Hohenwerf,
– Eisriesenwelt,
– Schloss Hellbrunn,
– Salzburg,
– Lamprechtshöhle,
– Seizenbergklamm,
– Zeller See,
– Zell am See and
– the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn.
