Rose Backroad. With GRX 810 for 2600£ and the 810 Di2 version for 3100£.
Buy the cheapest bike you can find with 45mm clearance and a hydraulic grx groupset. Spend the rest on upgrading tires, wheels, saddle and camping stuff so you can go on adventures. And keep a bit aside for repairs because stuff gets broken/ wears out quicker off road. Thank me later xx
Giant Revolt Is Outstanding At Whatever Spec Level You Choose…
Absolutely Love Mine…
2022 Saphire
Bought a Cannondale Topstone Carbon 3 for 2200€.. pretty hard to find a better value
Bought the same Giant Revolt you mentioned, and agree, it’s a great piece of kit.
There have been some cracking issues on the seat tube on the Giant Revolt. There is a reddit about it.
Still not cheap but for the quality and parts its good value and not 5k and above or 10k. Sometimes i ask myself if those bike brands due pay their employes 50-100k a year so they can afford their uber expensive bikes .. But sadly they dont pay very well … Thx for the nice video , cheers …
Lauf and Ribble need to be in the conversation. Both offer huge value for money.
Have you ever ridden/reviewed Niner's RLT RDOs?
Yoeleo G21
Surprised the Topstone didn’t make it into this list, as you appeared to be impressed with it when testing. On offer at Sigma sports you can get the Topstone Carbon 3 with GRX 810 groupset – and complete with 2 seperate sets of wheels (one carbon one aluminium) for £2350 currently!
That blows the doors off all of these for value, and it’s a great bike to ride as well.
Could you please also do these video on road bikes as well for 2kand 3k?
Also, if you can find one is the Scott Addict Gravel 20. A Brilliant performance Gravel bike with Rival AXS.
Trek checkpoint alr5…👌
Sonder Camino, you can get a titanium one with GRX well under 3k, or indeed get one with electronic shifting still under 3k. I have GRX 2x on mine and use it for both road and gravel. Amazing bike for £2400 🙂
Nukeproof Digger needs adding in there
The giant revolts were brilliant up until the latest models, where they stuck a bloody wedge In at the seatpost which is cracking their frames .
And the next gravel bike … Cannondale topstone carbon 3..😂
if you made this same video for endurance road bikes, what would be your top 3 ?
No Orbea Terra? Surprised.
Let’s not forget the Steel alternatives for those who are interested- the Fairlight Secan and Faran are excellent options, as is Temple Cycles Adventure Disc models, Brother Cycles Mehteh and Kepler, and Ribble Cycles Gravel 725, and CGR 725.
I'm on my 4th season on my Giant Revolt Advanced 2. Similar to the model in the video but with alloy rims. Giant is huge value and quality.
No Cervelo Aspero which is on sale?
I have an old Cannondale with the Ultra Fatty Headshok and it would ride similar to the Rockshok cartridge I imagine. It smooths out chatter and can take bigger shocks. The Redshift stem I also have on another bike and the dampening is there but it’s different because it’s a pivoting action rather than a vertical piston action. For dealing with chatter both systems are good. It’s too bad the VCLS isn’t offered with the Rudy fork in the Canyon. I have a VCLS seatpost as well on the Cannondale and you really need as much of it exposed as possible to get benefit so shorter seat tubes are in order if you want one because they aren’t cheap.
When are you gonna get a giant propel 2024 for review?
And there’s me thinking the question was going to be what is the best gravel bike for about £300 🤣😂🤣
Venon now gone on sale – £2500-2600 for 12 speed 2x 105/Rival for example 🤪
Giant TCX is also a really good bike
Would be great to have same kind of videos on carbon wheels, as it's usually the next big upgrade after you bought your first bike.
I’ve got the Revolt Advanced Pro from a couple years ago with the grx di2 and it’s an excellent bike. Also makes a pretty good road bike as it’s not far off my Defy when on the road. Doesn’t feel as fast but according to strava the times are pretty much the same or better in some instances.
Lauf Seigla is an obvious missing entry here. For $3000 USD you get Apex wireless shifting, progressive geometry carbon frame, UDH for future upgradability, and suspension. For $3500 (still in this video's budget) you jump up to Rival and get a power meter. Rigid fork options for even cheaper. Best value for money out there in my book,
Orro Terra C
Revolt is a good bike now the frames have stopped cracking! Unfortunately after 3 frames in a year if lost faith in them and wouldn’t touch another
