My Roscoe’s drivetrain-side seat stay is slightly curved – is this normal?

I’ve recently just noticed that a seat stay of my Roscoe 7 is slightly curved as the photo shows instead of being straight. Was it designed like this? If so, why could it be designed like this? Thank you very much in advance for your informations!
