Sweden can be very bike-friendly, but only if you know about this important cycling rule! Read more here: https://korkortonline.se/en/theory/crossings/

    1. True for herrcykelman crossings (with the triangle väjningsplikt markings on the ground for the "car traffic"), the car should stop. Every other crossing the cyclist has väjningsplikt and should give way (probably the confusion). There are a few circumstances where both have väjningsplikt (where generally the vehicle on the road will stop, but technically both have väjningsplikt for extra safety). Herrcykelman crossings are however extremely rare in Sweden so chances are most have never seen one, and older drivers probably don't know of their existence (their fault). Honestly not entirely sure why they made these (or at least made them so rare) herrcykelman crossings as they have just made things more dangerous. And by the way, your video is the only instance I've seen one in real life, I've only seen them been described in my drivers ed book and I've had my license for around 15 years 😉

    2. An interesting sidenote – regardless which of the three legal situations is in effect if there's a car vs bike hit incident, the car driver is always at error and will always be punished. Being the more heavy and solid sucks…
