“Biciklijada” is a traditional and perhaps the oldest public bike event in Belgrade, with hundreds of participants (and counting). The route seems to change every year and this time it took us through some very nice and interesting places, like the Terazije tunnel which would otherwise be tricky to ride (even suicidal). It’s also nice that the route crossed path with some of the previous movies from the area, so it is a really good addition.

Of course, as every other bike event, public or not, this one can also be used as a good tutorial for group rides, especially in terms of What Not To Do. Even when there is police escort, everyone’s safety is still mostly in the hands of the participants themselves. Remember that you need to be predictable and that such events are meant to promote cycling, not your skills. And speaking of skills, you will only impress people by riding easily, being calm and predictable, keeping control and simply following the group. Jumping, flying through, zig-zagging and alike is never impressive.

Anyway, enjoy more of Belgrade, with some very nice streets and keep an eye on things that should never be done on group rides.

    1. thankyou for this video- I have watched your bike rides all year and am even beginning to recognise roads and landmarks in Belgrade- even though I have not visited (yet!) – just one question- why does nobody wear a hi-viz jacket ?
