An incredible stretch of Spain awaits us when we hit the road after a good nights rest. We find ourselves in the remote southeast part of the ‘Meseta Central’ heading up north. We meet a friendly local wine farmer who tells us about the ins and outs of his vineyard. Beautiful valleys with crystal clear water, a variety of wild herbs, grazing animals and lovely off road conditions make for a perfect bikepacking experience.

    1. best 13 minutes of my day just finished for sure.
      thnx for another dandy episode.
although i doubt i'll ever be adventurous as you two, you've influenced me somewhat.
whenever i take my fatbike out for a spin here in rural thailand, i always look for places i'd camp if i needed to. and now i always eat porridge in the morning with fruit and nuts and whatever. i used to hate it as a kid but love it now…imagine that!
thnx again for another great show.

    2. Lovely cycling in a remote and wild area. If you love riding through herb lands go to Corsica where they have the maquis scrub/herbland. In spring it is a delight. Also re the flies, here in Australia we know very well of the values of travelling with a fly-net. Such a tiny piece of kit but SO very valuable when the flies are bad.

    3. Thanks for the great video. As usual, you've captured some great landscapes at special times of the day. Dynamic scenes of sheep on the land give a real dimension to hillside. Downhill action shots on gravel demand viewer attention. Voiced travel impressions were never pseudo, but instead help convey the joy of cycle touring. This is commercial grade footage.

    4. Aha…."some serious off-road riding" still has to come??? This looked serious already (-; No punctures, no damages so far. I like the conversations with the people along the way. Have a great trip and thanks for sharing from a less sunny Holland

    5. As I've said before, I've been watching your videos for a little while now, and I am just so impressed at your progress as filmmakers! You offer a unique style and perspective—a wonderful blend of unpretentious raw footage, fantastic drone shots, engaging V.O. (and English is not even your first language… seriously?), and really polished editing. These posts are like short documentaries, and I wonder if you've ever considered making a feature-length film?

My wife and I are a week away from our own 3-week tour in France, and your videos are only heightening our anticipation.

      Thank you, and safe travels!

    6. These videos are so inspiring! I love them. (Do you have any tips on how to manage clothes? Like how do you pack, wash, repair?)

    7. Please keep enjoying Spain, but don't miss Portugal. Small country with so much diversity, natural and built heritage, great weather, great food, cheap, safe. Would love to see your view on Portugal.
I love to cycle tour here!
      Kind regards

    8. Carlos didn't speak any kind of dialect. It was the typical inner country people way to talk in many parts of Spain. I know it can be difficult to understand, even for native speakers.
You did a good job thoug

    9. Always love the videos guys been travelling and I downloaded films because as you will know you don't Always get reception, so just got your video it sure looks nice there ,it seems like the covit restrictions are disappointing fast how have you found that on the trip so far .

    10. Maudi and Eric, please come bikepacking in Sweden one day! You are sooo inspiring, as well as your film making. Greetings from one of your fans!

    11. Consider buying a head net against the bugs, have one myself, and I recommend it, although it can take away some visibility, so should only be used when the bugs are really bad. Thanks for sharing ♥️ Cheers from Barcelona 🇪🇸

    12. Mind-blowing your blog… First time I saw your video… It's really nice….. Sorry I want one fever for u.. Can u suggest which bicycle best my weight loss.. From out door

    13. I just love your videos, I am on a "big Tour" myself right now and you are able to show through the video how it feels like being on Tour. I really appreciate the realness. I also have to try out the "bounty combo"

    14. One has to be very careful in collecting water from streams that are located near agricultural fields. There is often runoff from fields includes ammonia (nitrogen) and pesticides, not to mention animal waste. Even though these products are supposed to be used in a manner that limits their contamination of adjacent streams and lakes, sometimes this is inevitable, if for example, when there are heavy rains. Most high quality water filters will take care of such contaminants. Enjoyed seeing your tour of the growing areas and meeting the farmer.

    15. I'm from the U.S and speak American Spanish. I understood every single word the farmer said. He didn't speak a dialect, he spoke standard Spanish to you, just a bit fast. Great video, enjoyed every single bit of it.

    16. thank you for sharing this video and for the information about the europ divide trail. May be one day I will make it and follow your steps…

    17. Did you know that every wine plant in Europe ist grafted at this way? At the year 1860 the phylloxera come like an pandemie for the wine in Europe. The only healing was to graft the wine on top of the american resistant roots.
Maybe you look at the wikipedia. They knows it better like me 🙂 And so it is, thta mostly the wine in europe have american roots like in your great video.

    18. In ride 4days a week. 69 years old. I have a 70s Puch and took off the derailer to make a one speed. I put half of the chain on the cranks lowest gear and the other half on the rear wheel highest gear. This is the best bike I ever had a real honey. Guys here are getting rid of their old ten speeds and getting light weight 10 speeds for an easier ride. In Los. Angeles bike trails are being put over old abandoned train tracks. When they mature they really are fun and amazing. I do not really have to buy bikes there are discarded ones everywhere that's how you learn repairs especially when the chain falls off and you need to take out more links . Cool trip thanks.
