This solo two-wheeled journey took me through 11 countries—
Turkey
Bulgaria
North Macedonia
Albania
Montenegro
Bosnia
Croatia
Slovenia
Austria
Germany
Netherlands
This was the first part of a bicycle journey that would take my partner and I down the length of the African continent from Cairo, Egypt to Cape Town, South Africa.
I embarked on this European quest as a 4,000km gear shakedown before my African voyage, and to explore the means of bicycle travel to see if I enjoyed this type of two-wheeled travel.
…I haven’t stopped riding since.

Great video! Where/how did you camp throughout Germany? I heard wild camping is illegal but I dont know how enforced that is. Thank you!
Chapeau.
🙂👍🏻
What an underrated person
Hi Barney, very cool bike journey, did you tour alone?
Was the handlebar bag by lesenokbags any good?
Did you had an culture shock in Amsterdam ?
Loved the video and it was too short to do justice to all those countries. Just a question – how did you arrange visas for non-Schengen/ non-EU countries eg N.Macedonia, Bosnia, Croatia etc (particularly as you were cycling & not flying)? Can you just pitch up at customs or did you do eVisas?
Great video and thanks for sharing. I cycled from Holland to Hungry a few years ago and some of the shots brought back good memories for me (Danube and the Rhine sections). Well done.!!
Really nice trip.

Hello yatri project, thanks for sharing very wonderful experience. You motivate me to do so, in which video you put the list of the stuff that we have to carry during the trip? And also, is there any chance to get discount from bike manufacturer if we want to use their bike during the trip? (Help them to promote their products)
But but but where did you charge your batteries ? :"D
I will full support you
Wow Great trip congratulations
Firstly, THATS AMAZING! I watched the whole video and your editing plus the beauty of the videography is amazing!
Secondly, as someone who planning out a similar trip, Greece to the Netherlands, any advice?
AMAZING!
How did you navigate? Did you only use gps on your phone or did you have something else?
Qué buen video y lindos paisajes. Saludos desde México, nos vemos en carretera!! 🤘🏼🚲🇲🇽🏔
Beautiful. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
Music sometimes too loud blasting my earphones
Just found your channel, lovely to see you on the road, really inspired me to do the same real soon again too! 😍👍 Looking forward to seeing more! Warm greets from Sweden 🇸🇪 Stay safe on the road, and if you ever plan to cycle through Sweden get in touch! 💗
Beautiful activate on beautiful roads of turkey. I leke it, like you…
Damn, you have done a fantastic job. Do you have any suggestions for me? im going to start from Istanbul and catch my flight in pairs to Canada!
Sometimes the camera shoots you from afar. Do you go back and get the camera over there or are you using a drone? Hi from Istanbul btw
Hope you upload more videos like this. Enjoyed this video so much. I'm a cyclist here in the 🇵🇭.
Would love to see much more detailed videos of each country you travelled here, so sad we only saw parts
Appreciate 👍& support 🙏
Good Evening from Germany 🇩🇪
McKenzie, brilliant effort, very inspiring. 2 years ago I cycled from the Hoek to Ribes and back, this year From the Hoek to Goteburg and back. Both in 14 days. I used formal campsites most days interspersed with hotels for power and laundry. Have not wild camped! Did you experience any problems and how do you choose a pitch? Hoping to ride to Santiago de Compestela next year!!
Wowwww 😲😧
what a video! Super goed gedaan 😯👌
Great video, but I'm curious, why did you go through the southern part of europe, instead of going straight through Serbia/Romania and Hungary? I'm planning a similiar trip (Vienna to Turkey), and I'd aprecciate your insight.
I am really interested on doing smthing like this! How much money do you think i need for a month traveling?
Is this what bike touring does gives you a permanent smile. Lady
I want to bicycle from Denmark to engalnd but i dont know where to start
Awesome video! Question about wild camping: have you had any issues with ticks? Did you have to do checks after every night?
Amazing videos. A mix of views, useful information and your sweet smile.
I hope the next video can provide more detail: the atmosphere of camping, shopping for food or cheap lodging.
Thank you very much
wow !! amazing! i just did a 36km loop into a near forest and i feel my legs want a rest. Doing 4000km is WOW! congratulations! inspiring! have not look at rest of videos on your channel but i would love to see a video you sharing tips, learnings, from such long trips. how to prepare, what did you bring with you, tips on packing, etc. have an awesome new journey !
Wow what a journey, I backpacked through most of those countries in the mid 90s and early 2000s, but on a bike, now that would be something special.
