    1. Isn't it possible the race organizers are making the time taking location decisions for reasons other than safety, like overall race quality? Not arguing this race has been well organized, because it has not, but wouldnt we all be a hell of a lot more disappointed if a gc guy slipped in the mud at 1.5k and fell out of gc contention than we would be if a non gc breakaway rider did so, even if he lost a potential stage win opportunity? Nobody needs to be saved from an injury for that decision to make sense from an entertainment perspective, which must be one of the primary considerations for the organizers.

    2. Great recap.

Imagine being a mechanic on a WT now with all these crappy hard to work with fragile bikes where changing a headset bearing or stem length for tight neck means removing the cranks, bleeding both brakes and having to install new hydro housing lol.

WHY RIDE FAT SOFT TIRES AND DISC BRAKES THEN SHORTEN THE STAGE BECAUSE A LITTLE BIT O MUD???? lol

    3. I'm thinking about starting my own grand tour. I have a couple of orange cones and a stopwatch. Race starts at 9pm in the alley behind my shed. I'm not sure where it finishes though.

    4. Thanks for always bringing clarity to these odd situations. I just came from another set of highlights that didn't explain any of this, and was also fully wrong about the GC finish location.

    5. just a heads up: you don't need to lisp the "c" sound in the middle of Caicedo's name because he's latin american, not from spain. 🙂

    6. I really thought the neutralized ending was kinda cool. All these exceptional riders just lazily completing the stage was surreal, yet pleasing. Very odd, but very cool

    7. Procycling is and has been a complete sh#@show. There is reason for the change of the GC finish and the stage finish. Glad I don't watch races without Pogacar in the them.

    8. It actually does make sense, from a marketing standpoint. They literally do that in every professional league. Protect the most popular to keep views higher. There are clear stars who get certain treatment and then “roll players” that get different.
