    Produced by Easy Languages GmbH

Easy Languages is an international video project aiming at supporting people worldwide in learning languages through authentic street interviews. Our videos also give an opportunity to gain insight into cultural and social phenomena of different countries and peoples around the world. Our episodes are produced in different languages and include subtitles in both the original language of each video and in English. We also produce videos in easy and slower language for beginners, podcasts in the different languages of the project and additional learning material to provide a broader learning experience for anyone interested!

    1. Cycling everyday is EXTREMELY good for your physical and psychological health so no wonder they love it.

Biking everyday would automatically make you essentially a happier person overall because of the neurotransmitters firing and the release of neuro-chemicals which also elevate mood. Every other country is missing out 😢.

    2. In belangrijk punt is niet vermeld: Nederland is op Limburg en de Hoge Veluwe na zo VLAK als een pennekoek. Geen heuvels, geen bergen. Dat maakt het gebruik van de fiets veel gemakkelijker!

    3. I find myself in a state of confusion in Dutch videos. While I am fluent in English and understand German well, the Dutch language perplexes me as I struggle to comprehend its spoken words. However, despite this difficulty, I must admit that the intonation and rhyme of the Dutch language are absolutely charming. It's impossible for me to feel upset with the Dutch language, given its delightful sound.❤

    4. I have (cough) 5 bikes, my husband has 3 and we have 2 tandems. We are actually going to need to get rid of some bikes when we move to the Netherlands next year.

    5. When I lived in the Netherlands I used to cycle everywhere because it was often the easiest, cheapest, most fun, healthiest and fastest way to get around. The main reason this is the case is because the government and the people at some point decided that having a good bicycle infrastructure was good for the people and the country. Without a good infrastructure, cycling can be a real nightmare and so people don't do it, no matter how flat your country is. Similarly, hilly places with good bicycle infrastructure see a lot of people cycling because it's simply easier, more fun, cheaper and healthier.

    6. I have one e-bike, and I'm riding it on a daily basis in Bonn – Germany. And if I don't get run over by a car until then, I'm looking forward to moving to the Netherlands!

    7. It would be so great if other countries would adopt the dutch cycling infrastructure. I've heard good things about Copenhagen and Paris, but there's still a long way to go!

    8. I just returned from the netherlands a week ago. I saw one of these fietsknooppunten and didn't understand what they were, now I do and feel like I need to go there again to try them out.

    9. Little sidenote
People in Netherlands also regularly use the car in many ways
Like for example for driving kinda small and big distances, big groceries.
Last years the car is not used that often cuz of Covid but in the last 20 years the car is bought more and people drive their car more often. The Bike IS still popular tho and in the Big cities they use them WAYYYYYY more often for everything but thats cuz they don’t want to have one cuz the parking is fricking expensive.
but last years people use car cuz of the privacy. Only downfall you have to find parking which actually in my opinion makes the dutch more lazy these days.
Btw since last years the E-bike and fatbike and scooter/mopet are FAARRRRR more superior these days cuz people love to go somewhere fast with having to worry about parking, and its also more environmentally friendly (except the mopets they are loud as hell)
Thats why i love cycling its good for you in many ways.
You get Vitamin D, sunlight, exercise, more happy feeling etc. Only cons are that your open to storms, rain, snow, cold, theft.
But with bike you can go through small narrow streets which the car can’t and its far more faster

    10. I just got an electric bike around 3 months ago. I love it so much more than a regular bike. I love playing sports too so it's not that I'm lazy but I don't like to have to spend my energy commuting, I like to save it for the more fun stuff, playing team sports and working on new videos.
