About Crossing Picos de Europa:
This ride is a crossing of Picos de Europa, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Europa if not the world. It is full of steep and jagged peaks, often called ‘torres’ (towers). Picos de Europa has several epic rides. Lago de Covardango is the most well-known. This ride is however completely unknown and takes you deep into the mountains where few people go. This part of the mountains is normally limited to hikers, trail runners, and hardcore mountain bikers. Very rarely does one get a chance to ride through such rugged and beautiful terrain. The steep mountain track makes this ride very difficult, and this ride is not about how fast you can go, but about enjoying the scenery.

It starts in Poncebos, the gateway to the world-famous Cares trail. It works its way through gorges and mountainside until it leaves the tarmac and enters a world of gravel and stones. The beautiful and hardcore terrain is combined with very steep sections. Imagine plus 20 percent grades on loose stones and gravel. Your effort takes you up to a mountain crest where you have unparalleled views to both sides. Once you have reached the highest point of the ride, you have a long and crazy descent which takes you back to the comfortable tarmac. The ‘grande finale’ of the ride is the arrival to Fuente Dé where you are welcomed by panoramic views of gigantic mountain walls surrounding the area. The ride ends at the highest point in Fuente Dé next to the cable car. This ride consists of footage from two different days.

Adding music to the ride:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is awesome. But when it comes to music opinions are very mixed. This is why we do not add music to our rides. We simply do not want to spoil your ride with music you do not like. But it is quite simple to add it yourself. Open an extra browser tab. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc…) and pick the music you like and enjoy the ride…

My immune system is going through a phase where every cold draft means getting a fever. You made exercising at home while it's cold and rainy outside a lot more fun ❤
