  1. Very informative video also brought with your sense of humor. I like how you kept the confusion about how the lift worked and the other machines present at the Central Station. Great video all in all!

  2. really liked your video, but you were so lucky that you didn't have control on the train. Let me explain. You paid for the bike but did not load it on the public transport card. The moment you say in the video "is it done?" you showed the screen and I notice that, despite you clicked the english version, it suddenly went to dutch and that is probably that you have the next step missed. It said that you first have to pick up your order (bicycle card) and put it on your public transport card. So if you go to point 2.57 in your video you will see a number of blue boxes in the top left corner in the second from the top is "ophalen bestelling". you should have clicked on that and then continued to follow the instruction. I was screaming really hard at my screen NO DON'T GO AWAY YOU ARE NOT READY!!!!
If i'm right , that order for the bike is still ready to pick up so you can make the same trip to Utrecht again whit your bike.

  3. What are the rules about folding bikes like Brompton there? Can one take it anytime when bike is folded and not only off peak? Would one have to pay extra as well? Cheers.

  4. You can exit the station with a bike in any direction. Depends on where in Utrecht you are going whichever is the most convenient.

Almost everybody would either have their own bike parked at the station, or would hire an OV-fiets, in both cases you would be cycling out one of the bicycle parking garages underneath the station, that's why you see almost no bikes in the station.

  5. Quite a few unhelpful errors
You make take folding bike at peak times
Most people leave their own bike at departure and take an "OV fiets " on arrival – it costs less and you do not have to struggle with the stairs
The way you checked your bike in was wrong and you could have been fined had the conductor come along
If you are making a return trip then you have to pay for 2 journeys with your bike
Best is if you are not Dutch, do not pay and plead ignorance then it is usually free -especially if you do not sit close to your bike on the train

  6. Utrecht station is so large, but the signage should be okay. Nearly every station is accessible by bike, so no mater which way out you take it should take you to a lift or stairs with a bike-ledge. When you are at the platform in utrecht there were at least two ways you could take, there is one going up and one down. There is signage for exits marked 'uitgang' theyre green with a white 'box' and arrow) The one down should had been close to where you were standing when you were a bit lost. It's stairs down to a tunnel and it should lead to Smakkelaarsveld(jaarbeurs side) or Sijpesteijnskade(center side).

  7. hi Quba! so relatable and I am a Dutchie. I get stressed out because I can't find which door is the door with the bike sticker on it. When the train arrives at the station, all the people get in and I am still looking for the bike entrance of the train. Anybody?

  8. The video (plus the comments) have been really helpful as I’m new to the Netherlands and just got my bike. Thank you for making this 😊 cheers!
