Make sure it fits. There are YouTube vids on setting seat height correctly and all that stuff. Or get a local bike shop to help you adjust it. You mentioned swapping the saddle for one you like. 100% worth your effort.
Check for chain and drivetrain wear. Again, YouTube vids.
Then ride it like you stole it.
