I’m Aussie and in all honestly if you can up the budget to between 750-1000 AUD you can get amazing bikes (with much newer components) second hand.
For me, this is one of those bikes that I’ll buy to get into cycling and then immediately want to upgrade after a few weeks and really getting into the sport.
I’d either go for a dirt cheap roadie <200 if you’re unsure if you like cycling, or just go straight for a very respectable and decent second hand bike in that 1000 mark which you’ll be satisfied with for years.
….until you get the n+1 syndrome

Some may say overpriced. It’s on the higher side — but if it’s been recently serviced and doesn’t need any wear parts replaced like chain, cassette, brake cables, tires, etc – then it’s doable. Does it fit comfortably?

No, for $500AUD you can get something much better than that. I recently paid $75 for same year model Giant TCR two
For $500 you can definitely get something made within the last 10 years and you’ll be thankful for it. I’d avoid old carbon and just go for aluminium if it’s your first bike. I got a 2019 trek emonda for $300, there are bargains out there but you need to be patient

It’s a very old Ultegra groupset and frame.
