In this video I cycle along a Roman road called Carters Lane near Quainton in Buckinghamshire. It is a typical straight road which cuts through the countryside and seems to lead to nowhere special. I explore its route and also take a look at some old railway remains. The journey takes me up to Winslow where I look at the new station there. On my way home I show one of the best views in Buckinghamshire.

  1. Wonderful ride. I spent many a trip waiting my time at Cublington crossroads because you always got there from Wing faster than the timetable. The bus shelter hasn't changed a bit in 30 years!
The view at the end is a memory that's stuck in my head ever since I first clocked it, about a week after I started bus driving – I think it was on a Tescos run, or a weekly bus or something like that. But I also remember it distinctly because that run was also the first time I'd ever driven on a gated road. Nice to see the gates are still there too – though I doubt they bother closing them once a year any more.
