  1. Push harder on pedal after the bop, and trust that having more speed will be safe. This momentum will allow you to pedal and stay straight. It’s really just doing it over and over until it clicks and you won’t know how it was so difficult before.

  2. From your video, you need more speed going into it after the nosebonk and smaller movements with your handlebars. When your back tire lands, try to have your pedals mostly horizontal or have your stronger foot in the back slightly higher than your front so you can generate more speed off the start.

You should already be comfortable doing reverse circles in both directions, if not, practice turning towards your weaker side.

  3. More momentum is key, just a bit more speed. Once the pedals are turning by themselves it’s just about balance corrections with the bars.

I’ve found starting out from a track stand and pulling up with your front foot to start and then sitting down to preserve your momentum is a smoother way to go if you’re starting out. Start like that with backwards circles and keep making them bigger until you’re just going backwards in basically a straight line. The momentum is the thing that lets you balance better and go farther.

    Hope that helps!
