Here’s an obscure build you guys might appreciate, a custom 2012 Specialized Pfix. This bike was almost entirely stock when I picked it up a couple years ago on Craigslist for $100 and have been slowly modifying it to my liking. It kind of blurs the line between a BMX and FGFS but rides like neither. It’s really more of a brakeless, overly-durable cruiser. I’ve discovered the “2 bikes-in-one” idea follows the design philosophy of a Swiss Army knife but honestly, it’s perfect for me! At 6’4” 200lbs, this thing really caters to my size, and riding style, and that’s all that matters to me! I love how it looks, I love the geometry and I love that it’s a specialized!

Here’s a list of the parts…

Frame: 2012 Specialized Pfix
Fork: stock Pfix forks
Handlebars: Odyssey barmitzvahs
Stem: Profile mulville top load
Grips: ODI longneck
Headset: stock Pfix w/ primo dust cover
Cranks: Odyssey thunderbolts rhd
Bottom bracket: came with cranks so idk
Sprocket: Odyssey mds
Pedals: Odyssey twisted pros
Chain: Odyssey bluebird half link
Seat: some Specialized seat that’s comfortable
Seat post: no idea but it’s tall

Wheels: I bought these as a complete wheelset from the Fit BMX website. They were on sale and I needed something temporary because the stock wheels were in bad shape. Currently in the process of building my dream wheels. Stay tuned!

Tires: Maxxis DTH 26×2.3 folding in black. These are my favorite tires I’ve ever owned! And these were the first modification I made to the bike!

Weighing in at: 29lbs

This is also my first post on Reddit! Hope you guys like it!

  1. Unsure of what to even think of this lol. Regardless, it is most certainly unique, and therefore sick. Cheers.
