What happens if you retire from cycling and have some spare money for a truck, another 4×4, lots of bikes, drivers, and time to travel the world.
All brand new, the first ride is around were I love, the boss/cyclists are flying in today.
I stopped when I noticed the bikes.

Waiting for Robert DeNiro to pop out wearing the male-boob-breastfeeding-simulator…

  3. I don’t get it. Why a rig so rugged that could get you deep into the outback of Australia, the Andes, the Yukon, the Himalayas, the Congo basin, or wherever you might need a rig that can ford rivers and climb steep washes and rocky, muddy roads, and bring bikes only suited for riding on relatively smooth, firm surfaces?

I joined a Strava group where the faithful leader has a truck that runs at like 5mpg, big enough to fit 8 snuggly inside with all of our bikes plus food and water. NH has been fun this year. <3 it’s not quite this modified APC but it’s pretty much as close to the civilian store-bought version as you can get. Kinda worth it, but I feel bad about the fuel usage.

I find it hard to believe that anybody who would drive that monstrosity genuinely likes cycling

  6. regardless of the total costs, you can always tell about someone’s cycling priorities based on the *ratio* of the cost of their bike(s) to their car.

Well, that’s one of the twattiest things I’ve seen in a while.

Anybody want to bet on whether that temporary numberplate will actually be swapped for a permanent one once it expires?

  8. I guess I’m in the minority, but looks cool to me. Sure, I could never justify the money, but it’s a pretty cool looking Camper/ToyHauler in my opinion. Seems like a wealthy person who has multiple hobbies, RVing and biking.

  9. It’s certainly not what I would spend a million on, but I respect everybody who fulfills his dream of travelling the world and cycling in nice places.

I probably would just stay in hotels instead or maybe rent a campervan when needed 😃

  10. The kind of people that buy those monstrosities are the exact kind of people that will never use it to its full potential. Not a speck of mud or dirt on the thing.
Not to mention the remote places I’ve been with my Land Rover and Toyota would not be accessible by that behemoth.
