I've got a 27.5 fat bike that I use primarily for winter snow and shite conditions riding. I've got 27.5×4.5 Gnarwhals on, and these shred in the dry more than I'd expect, but I'm interested in expanding the frames duties to four season riding, perhaps an overnight bike-packing trip here and there. Initially I considered building a supplementary 29+ wheelset, but then I learned of the Crux Duro tires. The images in that review show a profile with a 45mm internal width rim, and the profile looks pretty round to my eyes. I'm curious what would happen if I threw these tires onto my 70mm internal width rims – specifically, how square the profile would end up. Anybody pushed the limits on the rim width with these tires specifically?
