Are both bikes the correct size for you? Assuming yes, $600 is half the original price of the A1 new, so I’d go for that. it’s going to be a great bike and I just rode its steel cousin, the S3 – fantastic ride. I started on mountain bikes but instantly got hooked on drop bars, they didn’t take long for me to figure out so I’d say go for it.

I have the jamis a1 and ride it every day.
Never heard anything bad about jamis so far.

Jamis, but both bikes are different, drop vs flat is a big difference and most riders or cycling channels don’t really understand what “hybrid” is.
Like is a comfortable bike for multi use case, but that’s what gravel is for, I personally love Jamis, and love a drop bar, however, most important thing is a correctly sized frame, a good deal on a wrong frame is a horrible deal at the end.
But I’d go for Jamis as “hybrid” is a marketing gimmick on bikes that are neither one or the other and probably do both badly.
