After a dark and cold start I make my way down to Portsmouth and onto the ferry… BSA Goldstar doing well so far…

Fabulous Sean! Really enjoyed that.
We’d pick the BSA for trips like that over any ADV bike. That lovely grunty engine low down is perfect for exploring. Shame the bike is getting bad press atm, because it’s very good indeed, and totally agree about the steering geometry; too many bikes are chasing quicker turning which makes them so much less planted.
The goats were magical ❤
Looking forward to part 2!
I threw this one up onto the TV, so that tells you something. And your dad was right😀. When you turned your engine off I could hear those nobblies.
What a beautiful place Spain is. Thanks for bringing us along.
Really enjoyed that Sean. Northern Spain is beautiful, uncrowded and full of character. Looking forward to part two. Safe travels
Most enjoyable Sean, Thank you Great roads and scenery to die for. Looking forward to the next video , and fingers crossed the BSA will come up trumps, Ride safely and enjoy the experience.Bfn Mike Sunny Wales,
WHENEVER YOU WANT TO GO TO ASIA, TRAVEL BY MOTORBIKE, I AM READY TO HELP
Loving this trip, can’t wait for more 😊
christs sake whats with you constantly fingering that dam button
I have toured in Europe from 1975 to 2024 and only ever used maps or the sun to navigate. Up to last year, I always had big Kawasaki or BMW bikes, but this year, I used my Honda ADV350 totally re-discovered the real joy of touring. Maps, small bikes and backroads are the future for me 😎
Did you bring a 🧭 so you now where N SEW is 🤭
Nothing beats that feeling of riding up the ramp onto the ferry to start your trip – except for riding down the ramp when you arrive, of course!
Well done on having the presence of mind to take the original throttle tube with you.
The Picos second only to the alps for biking imho we loved it so much we spent 2 days just blasting around them, thanks for the memories Sian hoping for a crack at the Spanish mountains next year, riding in Europe spoils you completely, after going through that puddle ! At the hotel it sounded like your boots were full of water, great vid mate jealous, ….. Pete 🇫🇷
Welcome to the "melted by exhaust" club! I've done them all: waterproofs, plastic bag, bike cover – some people never learn! Anyway, experience has at least taught me how to remove the burnt on mess. Use a 2p piece to scrape it off – the copper is softer than the chrome, so won't damage it, but makes short work of the crusty remains. Finish off with some Autosol and maybe 00 grade steel wool, if needed.
Lovely run, very chilled. Your bike seems perfect for this. I’m not sure I could cope with those deep valleys and no barriers!
Sean, thanks for taking us along. Perfect empty roads with beautiful scenery, has already got me itching gor next years trip. As you know I ride a lot of the roads of Spain, Portugal and France on my 350 Meteor and have always felt totally at home avoiding main roads. Really looking forward to the next episode already 👍👍
Great video. The views are fantastic, I look forward to taking trips like this when the kids are a bit older, so it is good to watch yourself and others in the meantime to make my wishlist and it just goes to show, you don't have to spend a fortune on a adventure bike (though I am sure they are great) just ride the bike you love, the way you want to ride it and go prepared.👍
I like your work and I know it’s a verbal tic but I’m somewhat over YouTubers addressing the viewer as ‘guys’. Professional presenters seem not to do it.
Sean, this was excellent, looking forward to the next episode.
Nice one Sean 👍
I do the motorways the same slow and steady
Got to leave that indicator switch alone😝
Why didn't you get in more frames Suzie? The only way that we seen you was barely seeing your shadow while you were riding once. Did you have the same lunch as Sean off the side of the road Suzie? I can't believe that you got that room for less than $20.00 plus 2 meals with it-awesome. Remember fellow bikers to say one up for our sister Suzie. Glad tp see you guys having fun, Cheers!! Have a beautiful day our friends!! Illinois. USA
Amazing adventure Shaun, does anyone actually live in that area you seemed to have it all to yourself. Out in the wilds and you still can travel on decent roads, so different to our disgraceful roads where your just go from one set of patches to yet more patches.
The alternative is to wish you had done it.
Interested to know tank range, more relevant than mpg.
I have a dual dial gadget with a wheel and compass.
Read off the map scale and wheel it along to get a good idea of fuel stops.
Distance is always in hours and personal endurance.
Great video mate! Loved it 😍👍
What's the obsession with pressing the indicator switch ???
Great stuff. Don't BSA make heated grips?
All the best, David.
Ps. The more i watch motorcycling videos in Europe, the more I realise what an absolute dump the uk has become. Really sad.
Great vlog Sean. Watch out Itchy Boots – you have competition 😜 I’m looking forward to watching the rest of your adventure.
Hi Sean, my Harley-Davidson exhaust has a heat shield but that gets very hot too. I have a few pairs of Harley-Davidson waterproof trousers, one light pair and a heavy weight pair, both have heatproof panels on the inner legs and they were not expensive. What MPG are you getting and how is the petrol station situation? Do you carry a spare fuel bottle? Great video!
Cheers, Sky.
Use gorilla tape for your melted bottoms…
Absolutely great entertainment and a rare look at a beautiful part of Spain. It puts our crumbling rural roads to shame. Thank you so much.
Great video. Really good to see a sort of 'back to basics' approach to touring, in the best possible way. Don't get me wrong, horses for courses, but a retro tour is just so brilliant. Every day is a school day as they say and you have more knowledge than what you started with. Looking forward to the next one.
Careful you don't get cement dust under that tank bag! I'll see you at the NEC if you happen to be there on Wednesday.
