‘Why is there such a black hole?’

The panel discuss the latest on financial figures published by Rangers.

Daniel Caw is joined live by Daily Record’s Scott Burns and Sunday Mail’s Scott McDermott on the Hotline Live podcast to preview a packed midweek of Premiership action.

Dundee are the opponents for Brendan Rodgers and his Celtic table toppers, who are yet to lose in the Premiership but are ahead at the summit only on goal difference with the flying Dons matching them all the way.

The Dons face a massive week with Rangers at Pittodrie before a Hampden showdown with Celtic in the League Cup.

    1. The money was spent before it was received. Gerrard's rebuilds, of which there were 3, were funded by soft loans. When Rangers raked in the CL dough the investors got their money back. They've never been ahead of the game. Further to this, they've paid out millions & millions to Mike Ashley among others, paying off sacked managers & buying players they ultimately make a loss on. All of this whilst their costs have gone through the roof. 55 came at a cost, repeated mistakes since have only exacerbated the problem.

    2. The Sevco experiment has lost money every season since 2012. My club Alloa routed them on their “journey” , and were somehow accused of cheating. I have zero sympathy.

    3. £126.8 million in losses since the old club died. The new club hopefully will end up deid as well because everyone is sick of this farce. How are they getting a license from UEFA to play in Europe, and when are the fraud squad going to investigate their figures?

    4. Theyve never had money. They've loaned there way to a european final but failed domestically which they are paying for now by paying all there loans back. Any profit for players goes to covering debt and has been since 2012. Its all lies thinking they have been making millions through the years its all been going to the loaners no matter how much they make from player sales or euro wins.

    5. Scottish football journalists are absolutely clueless on Ranger’s finances. They’ve been surviving hand to mouth every month by Directors loans. That was never going to be sustainable long term. They’ve had a bigger player wage bill than Celtic recently which under the circumstances is absolute madness. Yet when their annual accounts come along journalists are amazed to see them on their arse again. Maybe if they accurately reported the same club bollocks after they were LIQUIDATED in 2012 they might have been tempted to live within their means. But no that was the company not the club so they continued to overspend like the old club with the same results. Hell mend them and thanks to the laptop loyal for failing to report what was happening before their eyes and exacerbating the situation by turning a blind eye once again to their reckless spending

    6. Free transfers normally come with high wages. Money was borrowed, so any money that eventually came in from transfers / Europe was just repaid. So they were back to stage one. Yet rangers fans say, where has money gone 🙈😂😂. They must understand how debt works in everyday life with house / car etc. You spent it, before you had it..

    7. your money has not gone anywhere – you just do not have – or have sold – any players of high value. We sold Matt O for mega money – that would have put rangers say £8 million positive. You are buying average players that have little or no sell on value. More worrying for you will be if Aberdeen make a CL play off spot

    8. You lot are the problem, you never had any money, it was all director loans that had to be paid back to the so-called true blues in charge first before it went to the team.
At least you knew where you stood with Craig Whyte, the lot you have in at the moment should be wearing masks.
