🤣dude! you are AWESOME! Great information! PEOPLE, this is what being Authentic & Honest looks like! Thank you sir!
What do you recommend for a beginner who is on a lake
I started out as a new detectorist 3 years ago. I’m on disability so my main issue was price. I didn’t have money but I had time to scour marketplace for deals. There are always deals on Bounty Hunters because people buy them, don’t have patience to detect and dump them. My first detector was a Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro. I think it’s a TK-4 guts with a digital display and the ability to be a bit more selective. I paid $35 like new condition. Unfortunately it acts erratically. Fortunately my background is in electronics and I found the issue was a loose ribbon cable inside. Fixed it and got my start there. I quickly needed a Pinpointer and went with a cheap Garrett Clone. No it’s not a Garrett Carrott but it got me started. I raided the garden shed for shovels and used an old hip bag for finds.
I then found a truly like new Bounty Hunter TK-4 in the box with headphones for $40. I watched videos from a BH Rep and learned to use it. Personally if you’re not beach detecting I think it’s the greatest entry level if you buy it used or on deep sale. It made me learn tones and I found enough to keep me wanting more. My next move was I found a used, like new in the box with headphones Garrett ACE 400 from a dealer for $168 delivered. This gave me ID numbers and better options to notch out items. I found my first General Services Button on my own land that I missed before.
I wasn’t ready to buy anything else but I fell into a like new but used Nokta Makro Simplex + in the box, all paperwork and another knock off Pinpointer. This has been my goto with the ACE 400 as my backup or to loan to a friend to detect with me. I also occasionally still use the TK-4 since it’s so darn simple. I forgot along the line I bought a Discoverer -1000 which is the Radio Shack labeled BH TK-4. I bought it in good working condition for $15. A Mom bought it for her kid and he quickly lost interest. I traded my original Bounty Hunter Tracker Pro towards a GoPro Black 7 so I can record my detecting.
Right now I’m considering selling the Ace 400 and maybe 1-2 Bounty Hunters or the Simplex and upgrade to a double or triple score or a used Legend so I detect on the couple of times I get to the beach. I do get to my local fresh water beach and the Simplex works fine there.
I’ll continue to follow your channel. Thanks for revealing these videos that don’t know what they talk about and are only in it for affiliate links. Dave in PA.
I live in canada and looking to start metal detecting ! I can get a minelab vanguish 440 on sale for 365.00 or the nokta score for 465.00 , i have no idea which detector to look for but after listening to your and others channels these two seem to be a good all round one to buy ?
Who tf are writing these comments 😂
so what is the best metal detector.. I'm one of those guys that will just pay and get it over with without looking into all the mumbo jumbo.
I’m looking for a metal detector to find irrigation valves. Stainless steel screws in 24 V electric with copper wire. Can you help me?
Enjoyed your video. Lots of great info. So many "expert" videos out there touting the best detector to get a commission. I need some help. Never detected, would like to try it out. I have $250 to spend on a detector. Looking for a versatile detector to hunt coins, rings, and relics – but also be able to use it on the beach when we vacation. Not complicated to use but advanced enough that I can use it for 2+ years before I upgrade. Would you happen to have any suggestions? Thanks!
Simplex+? X Terra Pro runs circles around it X 1000. Nokta shouldn't have made that detector.
Hey there, I just came across this video I’ve been looking all day for good metal detectors and I can’t seem to find “the” one, I’m a beginner and I’m just wondering what you think would be the best one to get that’s not over 400$
I’d like to get into it but this is brand new to me.. Id be looking for gold and silver in and very near saltwater here in Ft Lauderdale.. any pros out there that can point me in the right direction?
Minelab gold monster 👻 👽 ✨️ 1000 😂😂
Indiana please help me, so I'm writing a list of things I want to buy, but I am just typing the best of the best, without putting in mind that I am new to metal detectors niche just say to me the best high end metal detector existing you consider no cost matter, I hope you answer me! greetings from Colombia
So what's the best detector for me ,looking for something beach water I'm in the south Louisiana and civil war sites old home sites but all around for these terrains ,a really good one
Thanks heaps, I found your video very honest, informative and useful!
What would you recommend for old farm land//dairy cow pasture and salt and fresh water? Looking for one machine that'll do both.
What about the manticore detect one ???
As a multi- line metal detector dealer and author, I listened to your video and agree with most of what you said including your take on Amazon and these Affiliate Click Bait BS from Non Hobbiest folks who don’t know Shit because of suspicious questionable experience in our hobby putting out these misleading videos.
I also agree with your Mention of Gold Diggers Shop which on the Eastern Half of our Great Nation excels in Service and Knowledge where.most Amazon Dealers themselves never tou h a detector or their Inventory.
Where I disagree with you is what you didn’t say when talking about the Whites Mx Sport or MXT. Yes, they are single frequency and yes, you have to reduce the sensitivity down to stabilize the Circuit which makes hearing coins in salt water wet sand difficult beyond 5 inches. Multi Frequency circuits will cancel out that salt water Falsing but they can miss deeper coins and rings beyond 10” in certain high mineralized dirt or wet salt beach sand!
The American Tarsacci MDT 8000 a Single Selectable frequency detector actually detects 40 % deeper in 2024 because it operates on a PI / VLF Patented Circuit and to illustrate my point when comparing deep signals with My hunting partner Frank who uses The XP Deus II he was unable to hear and even ID these deep targets where it was a piece of cake for the MDT 8000. Frank has 40 plus years of experience Being taught as my customer as well as ALan Woods, Jimmy Sierra and a Reader of Andy Sabisch Books as well as an Engineer with HP and others during his career. So why has the Tarsacci MDT 8000 not been evaluated as much, and why does Ron from Gold Diggers not carry it? Well the Company based in Merced, Ca FairTrades his product and the Dealer Discount is 1/2 of normal discounts If you want to discuss Tarsacci further or have any questions for me. I will invite you to call me at Trans Bay. 650-574-2012. Just ask for Greg Moscini 😀👮♂️
When's iratemetaldetectors getting updated?
This is my fist time buying a Metal Detector , can some please confirm If the
QUEST X10 IDmaxX is good a choice for beginners!?
Temu has a one for 30$ the brand is called medal detector u should do a review 😂
For depth….go with a pulse machine
I like your Nickname "Indiana Tones". Great play on words.
I am looking for a good metal detector around about $300 range that really picks up gold silver and other precious metals
As far as my research…
Spend $100 – 250 = limited/beginner friendly features. My favorites in that price range are the Minelab GOFIND 40 or 60, Minelab XTERRA PRO or a Nokta SIMPLEX.
Spend $250 – 600 = More customizable programs and features. More of a learning curve to acess the full capabilities of the machines listed here. My favorites picks are the Nokta LEGEND and the Minelab Equinox 600 at the higher end but the Nokta DOUBLE SCORE and the Minelab XTERRA PRO would be my 2nd choice in that price range.
Spend $600 – 1000 you get into some advanced options with all the machines and will spend A LOT of time learning how awesome they perform when calibrated and really dialed in for the environment you are detecting. Default/factory programs already installed pretty much work flawlessly but small tweaks do improve performance. I own and personally recommend the XP DEUS2 w/ the WS6 module and the Minelab EQUINOX 700. Any of the EQUINOX machines are great!
You can buy the Minelab MANTICORE at $1600 or the XP DEUS2 for $1400, but bang for the buck, most don't see significant gains for the price. If you got the money and like what the machine offers, buy it then. There are a ton of guys here on YouTube showing performance and review videos….buckle in and check some out, just don't take my word for it. Happy hunting fellas.
honnestly if you just want to find coins and bigger objects a 200 to 300 dollar one is totally enough
What's a good detector for property pins when surveying a vacant land? Any suggestions?
Thanks for the Great Info!! You saved me a lot of time researching. Just looking for something down at the beach that can take salt water. Best Wishes to you!
Please reply me sir
Minelab6000 or 7000.
Nice video's Can you recommend for me. A metal detector that can look for everything and do about everything that is very user friendly.I am new. Budget 1500.
If you can't see the person reviewing the items, then there's no reason to listen to what they say. I found this video after leaving the first one you reviewed, which has been renamed for 2024, even though the intro still says best of 2023, what laziness.
i buy used detector my 600 used it under water just check over the detector check your seals you tube will show you that will not pay 1500 expensive or inexpensive multi freq its all the same when it come to gpr or 3d metal detectors will go deeper then some but digging 30 meters down dont real want to dig to china
