3 min he have a hard acent as a german guy xD
All about the 40’ videos
Thanks Russ for opening the eyes of many to alternative bicycles. The creators are clearly passionate about their bicycles. Pricing would have helped for people thinking about alt bikes. Did you notice any big differences between made in the US and bespoke in EU? If you did, your thoughts would be appreciated. I am now looking seriously at the new Brompton G-line simply because of its versatility and ease of transporting as someone you spends time on both sides of the Atlantic and travels by train/ferry a lot.
Thank you Russ for sharing with us. Loved it, and you do it so well.
Niiiiiice!
Yeeees
Best report ever! In Dresden? Have to go there next year! This seems more fun than Eurobike!
Avalanche are beautiful and the bikes aren't bad either 😉
The last one (from 36:48) is a highlight I didn't expect! 😀
I loved every single bike. Every one.
Love the german accents
omg…. that Avalanche….
That first bike is like a modern 'Boneshaker'.
Lovely bikes ^_^
Especially my attention was caught by the Pedersen bike, the double-decker handlebar a-la Canyon but steel and front shock a-la BMW Telelever.
Maybe you have mentioned something like this, but is there a sistem to integrate your fone as your head peace on the bike and to via a dynamo or so, keep it charged?
Glad you saved the best 'til last Russ, that was a doozy and well worthy of the title of this vid.
Also, looks like truss/multi-tubes are the next big thing, amirite?
My mind was blown with every bike I saw. Amazing content.
Very cool. Must. Visit. Orbea!
awesome bikes!
Damn, the avalanche cycles bike is beautiful – great video, thanks.
Heim joints, right? Cool build!
Would love to see a video on three D printing the bike parts.
Totally fascinating. I'll need to view this a few more times.
Cycledelic took touring in a whole new direction.
And all the metal frames and forks are just great to see.
Nice job Russ and Laura.
Thanks!
Thanks!
That guy with Starfish could fit into Portland’s bike scene without blinking an eye.
Shifting gears: a German bike named Panzer with a “Blitzkreig” racing model would cause a media buzz. All publicity is good. ✌️
Love the paint of Amapola's and Significant other. The engineering of the cycledelic is impressive. Bastel_mann fillets are great too
It would be great if you could test the Wonka bike in Spain 😃
I am lost for words.
The open top coupling in the pederson tribute are actually called "rose couplings." A ball joint is closed over the top.
Cycledelic is definitely saving the best til lastI have ideas to turn my Zeitbikes short wheelbase cargobike into a "campervan" and in researching concepts I've come across cycledelic on youtube. It's an inspired design and the concept of sleeping across the bike, like I'm thinking of doing is verified by it – probably how I'll do my camper pod. Mind you, the short wheelbase Zeitbikes only have a 550mm minimum load floor length, so the bed might have to be a bit more elevated than cycledelic, or I may have to find a frame builder willing to extend and reinforce my single spar frame.
Also, I'm loving how so many frame parts are being custom 3D printed. With services like PCBWay in China offering a stainless steel 3D printing service for around the same price per volume as buying cast lugs, etc, it means CAD skills are the only barrier to "that special frame that can't be built because the lugs aren't standard."
Rhientritt is a masterpiece
The avalanche gravel bike is another masterpiece
A breath of fresh air! The most exhilarating cycling video for months.
Outstanding. Just love to see what different variations of bikes are being created by these craftspeople. Very much needed in todays ‘corporate driven’ bike industry. Thank you.
WOW. JUST WOW. All of them are absolutely brilliant!
Just try it!❤
Great bikes & creativity. Such nice people.
Wow! Amazing bikes, thanks for covering this.
There WERE MTBs there you know. 😉
Am lucky enough to be living very close to the Avalanche team. Was able to chat with them once about the first bike they built with a truss fork (stainless steel) and it was so interesting. The day I am deciding to go for a custom build, it will be with them for sure (not titanium though, don't have the budget). 😅
starfish bikes seem so wild. crazy bars haha
Seatpost joy 😂
For me I think my next bike will be a 20" cargo bike with beefy integral steel cargo racks.
Been riding a 700c bike with a Topeak rear rack and when loaded to less than half capacity there is a lot of flex and it gets very tippy on the center-stand. Only way I could lower the CG while having a basket above the tires would be to lower the diameter of the wheel and 20" seems like the best option with the bonus of making the bike more compact wheelbase wise and lowering the gearing overall. I'm a putt putt guy, if I can comfortably do 10 mph on my bike that's plenty, the lower gearing is nice on hills and such.
Cool picks from the show!! Great you made it to bespoked, and nice getting to know you briefly. Have a good ride 😉
Made is light years ahead, but there is talent and courage at Dresden too. Really nice to see.
That Project D guy is playing with fire. He might stumble upon something new.
