If you’re new to my channel and videos, hi! I’m Evan Edinger, and I make weekly “comedy” videos every Sunday evening. As an American living in London I love noticing the funny differences between the cultures and one of my most popular video series is my British VS American one. I’m also known for making terrible puns so sorry in advance. Hope to see you around, and I’ll see you next Sunday! 🙂

If you want to know HOW I make my videos including gear, lighting, all the tiddly bits that connect it all together, (with cheaper alternatives and kit I used to use), I’ve listed each item, what it’s great at, and why I use it on the gear section of my website here:

    1. Why would anyone buy salad dressing? So easy to make, and you know what is in it. In Australia, the advice is to 'shop the perimeter' of the supermarket, where the non-processed food is usually found.

    2. I live in Down Under, and you're right about the ColesWorth, BUT – we luckily still have Aldi. There are also other supermarkets, like Drakes or Foodland, but their prices are even more expensive than two main chains, though at least their produce quality is usually a lot better.

Many Aussies (I'm European living in Aus) have been buying their essentials in Aldi, and since Aldis are often located near one of the big chains, they complete the shopping there.
If your brain is particularly large and you can be bothered, you can also take the advantage of the half price and clearance sales in the big chains, and plan your dinners around that.

When it comes to convenience though, there's a supermarket in every neighbourhood, usually a walking distance. I can really appreciate it as I do like taking walks.

    3. What is great about living in Europe/UK is that if you reeealy want that cloud/bubblegum flavoured coca-cola, you can just order it online. The only thing you probably can't order is ice-cream, but then again, I don't think ice-cream culture is this big in Europe as it is in USA, like, people just don't care of the most part.

    4. The reason the 80 % might be hard to believe for you is that they’re not talking about the volume or weight of the food or how much that food fills you up, but they’re talking about caloric intake and UPF just have such high energy densities that it’s so easy to get many calories from even seemingly small quantities

    5. Sir, you are a rabble-rouser. For non-issues and hypotheticals. Fake furrowing your brow and laying down condescending, loaded sentences in hope that the rabble agrees with you is shameful.

      * That 'Treat' ice-lolly is called a Feast in the UK, by Wall's. Did they "trick" you again? Devils!
Your video contents are called Fake-News, false-dichocolate.

      Shame on you.

    6. I was sitting here and giggling to myself having a great time thinking about groceries in two different countries I have no experience in only to be completely humbled when he broke out the “at least we’re not in Australia where there are only 2 grocery chains in a duopoly constantly raising prices for consumers” 💀💀💀💀

Why did you have to target me so-

    7. And this is all profit-maximization -> capitalism -> fear
Imagine how much less insane BS there would be going on if the aim was to serve the common good, with love and no existential fears.
Imagine supermarkets without discounts, except if a product is expiring soon and needs to go quickly, in case someone didn't do their job well.

    8. I am a personal shopper for a USA Super Store outside of Detroit, Michigan. The store is 23,230 m/sq (3.2 football pitches) and has nearly 60,000 individual stock keeping units (different items). That’s about 200,000 units.
I walk, on average, 8.5 km each work day.

    9. I expected the "lack of choice" to be choices between brands, and local products, and those things actually existing… instead of one mega company that takes up all the space.
