Bicycle Touring the Netherlands

We’re finally back on the bikes again! Join us for a ride through our southern most province in the Netherlands where we conquer the Dutch Mountains!! (😉)

After cycling up and down for most of the day we feel pretty tired and find a beautiful spot for a stealth camp. We don’t get the best nights sleep… but never mind! Along the way we learn about the recent history of this region and meet some wonderful people who share their life advice with us. And for the first time in more then a year we cross the border into another country! 🇧🇪Come along on our test ride before we start our big trip in August! 🚴‍♂️

A Special Thanks to the wonderful people we’ve met who agreed to share there story with us 🙏

    1. Thanks for watching guys! 💛 So glad to be back on the bikes! Let us know if you liked this concept of asking ‘strangers’ a question. Do you have an idea for an interesting question? Leave them in the comments below!

    2. I really enjoyed the new aspect of asking people what they think of life etc, it helped me see what the joys of life are and life is short!

      Inspirational.

where are you going? and what an epic adventure, after 1 yer and 3 months of being out of it.

    3. You two are wonderful people, and I love how you interact with other people you meet on your way. Thank you so much for taking us with you on your trips. For me, the most important thing while travelling is to meet other people, hear their stories and dive deep into other cultures. Many travel videos contain mostly footage about landscape, but not so much the interaction with other people. While traveling it's also nice to see something about the pittoresque landscape you are surrounded with, but mostly it's always about the people you meet on your way. That are at least my most memorable thoughts when I think back of my trips. Definitely looking forward to see more conversations with people in future videos 🙂

I understand it is hard to build up a connection with someone while holding a camera into their face. But I am pretty sure that you both will somehow solve that with your calm, soothing and charismatic attitude. Cheers Maudi and Eric

    4. been watching your videos. Subscribed! Love your videos. please do keep sharing. Question for you, would you ever consider going on a tandem? I'm curious as to your bikes and will go find that video of your bikes here shortly. thank you.

    5. I really must get to Holland one of these days. So close and never been there. Thanks for another lovely video. Happy to see you both look well.

    6. I am preparing a 2 week bike trip and would like to ask your profession opinion as to whether it makes sense to invest in rain pants? They are quite expensive. If not what is your strategy for handling the rain?

    7. The squeeking sounds….as if you were cycling with a bunch of ducklings…lol. I love the idea of having short interviews with people. Nice touch. Like an extra flower in a already nice bouquet!

    8. Bangkok is lockdown again, it will be a long long time before we ever see it on your next videos. Excellent channel big fan here. Thank you for showing me and the world what is the true courage 🙏

    9. Hi guys,
Awesome work 👍 and I really liked the interviews from several people that you've met. 70 yrs young gentleman's advice is so true, life is short and try to enjoy every moment of life. 🙏😊 Limburg area is really pretty and would love to revisit someday soon. Cheers and wish you happy riding!☺️ 💕

    10. I have always liked your vlogs, but this video was much more interesting to me than your others. Thank you for including interviews with people you meet along the way! Also, thank you for including history and general information about the areas you are passing through. After a bike tour across the US in 2009, my first and longest overnight trip, I did a presentation to my Sierra Club group about the trip. I titled the talk, “It’s about the people”. At first, I thought the scenery would be the best part of the trip, but quickly learned that the people we met were the most interesting part of the trip. SO…… I thank you, and encourage you to keep including people, and history, and comments about the regions you are biking through. Well done!

    11. I've watched many of your videos and enjoyed them all. I'm planning to do a solo bike ride in the Netherlands in the near future. Is camping free there? I come from Germany and wild camping is not allowed there.

    12. Lovely video. Very nice people. I wonder if you've both considered doing the Camino? I remember the Dutch Guy in the movie (The Way) Ain't much if it ain't Dutch. I wonder if you'd comment on the higher handlebars? It seems such a good idea…

    13. I always enjoy how you edit the videos. Chatting to other people as you cycle on is a great way to give a taste of other people’s experiences. Your editing changes bit by bit over time; it keeps things fresh. Thank you.
