Does the bike come with the boat? I could do with that when I win the boat😄
Ha ha! we talked this before as it is logical sense. Folder on the boat, less room, ride back to get the car, bike in the boot, then back to the boat on the bike. All you want now is a fold up flat pack wheel demountable trailer for it, shopping, gathering wood or whatever made super easy. Pick up George as he can ride on the back rack or in the trailer with the welder etc. Somehow I knew you would get if only for you to travel to your workplace. If 50 miles there (which I doubt) fine, charge it to do the 50 miles back. Sorted as your world has opened a bit more.

I´m a lot older than you, and on my second e-bike. Bought the first one too cheap. Never do that. But I dont feel like it's cheating. You still use your legs, and I feel much better after a bike ride. For shopping I always use the bike, and usually choose the supermarket that is the farthest away from my home. If I only had an ordinary bike, Im lazy enough to take the car instead. The e-bike also inspires me to take a detour now and then, just for the fun of it.
Not being from the UK I know zip about narrow boats but having watched a lot of narrowboat videos and from what I see in the theses varied vlogers videos is continuous cruisers always mention being limited to 2 weeks moored in one location. Funny though I don’t think I have heard a cruiser say we have to move because we have been here for 2 weeks. I guess it is more of an issue in cities.

E bike for free is a good thing E bike and have to PAY for one is another you can buy a 2nd hand car for the price unitl Ebikes are alot cheaper ive no way of affording one

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but that mystery part for your bike is the throttle. Some ebikes have that option in case one feels particularly lazy and doesn't want to use the pedal assist. 😘
