Got this new bike and assembled it myself however when I try to tighten the bottom bolt with my wrench the top circular screw head turns with it, so no tightening occurs, leaving my handlebar really loose. I tried to keep the circular screw head stationary but the shape and location makes it impossible. How to fix?

Those bolts usually have a “key,” a little nub under the head that matches up with a slot in the stem. That’s supposed to keep the bolt head stationary while you tighten the nut. Remove the nut and bolt to see if anything in there is worn out.

    2. The “circular end” likely has a little tab which will rest in a slot in the stem, preventing it from rotating. Remove the bolt entirely and check for said tab and slot.
