    1. Compared to Vilnius – it's pretty terrible. Districts aren't connected, it's definitely not meant for commuting, it's extremely inconvenient, they REPURPOSED a few bicycle paths and instead of them they made those ridiculous 5km/h zones. Municipality is as incompetent as it is corrupt – no wonder people also don't respect bicycle paths and there's ALWAYS people walking on bike paths even in not busy neighborhoods. As much as I loved Kaunas growing up, half a year back in this city was enough for me – thank god I'm coming back to VIlnius this week, Kaunas is unbearable for someone who prefers to commute to work and university on a bike. Although Vilnius isn't perfect and has its problems, the commutes are mostly great no matter where you live, cities are only 100km away from each other but commuting in both cities feels so different, it's like 2 completely different worlds.
