In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as…

I woke up at 5, after a night of stealth camping inside a fruit stand. I had to leave early to avoid any confrontation with the owners. The road was still pitch black, no lights in sight, but I had to move on.

As I stopped for a quick snack, I noticed a French bakery already working hard on fresh baguettes while it was still dark.

The first bigger village I reached was Saint Remy. Its nice city center was waking up, and I was on the lookout for a water fountain.

Crossing the Rhone into Beaucaire, which intersects with the Rhone Velo route, I saw a couple touring on a tandem, which seemed quite inefficient.

Then, I had a bit of fun with dogs guarding one of the houses, following me as I passed by.

There was a 25km stretch of wasteland leading to the seaside, with no place to stop or signs of civilization. The heat, dehydration, and lack of minerals made me feel dizzy.

The cycle route along the Rhone was nice, but I faced a strong headwind coming from the sea.

Eventually, I found a supermarket and resupplied with some cola, having learned my lesson after ignoring it for the past 40km.

By 6pm, I reached the seaside near Montpellier, with its super long stretches of infinite beaches.

They were busy with people, very windy, and there was no quiet place to camp. I considered stealth camping at a parking lot and waited to see how frequently people came by.

While waiting, I watched a seagull pick at and eat a dead pigeon, a raw experience.

Seaside towns are busy by default, and after an hour, I gave up.

I found the nearest official campsite and booked two nights. I arrived at the last minute before closing, fortunately catching a gardener who offered to help with booking.

So, I secured a spot for my tent for two nights to avoid the thunderstorms.
