This is our go to All weather winter loop of Rivington Moor with the best of the all weather and more sustainable descents

Our route starts from the school as its easier to park the van but you could easily start from Lower house car park, which is a good size but does fill up quick at the weekends.
We then climb up to Rivington pike for our first descent, then onto the traditional (the OG) wilderswood descent before doing the longest ascent to the TV mast on winter hill for a fantastic long and fast descent a towards Belmont known as “San Marino”.
We then take in an alternative two lads descent before finishing up with the tech fest (but great in all weather) Special K.

Some of the tracks are “cheeky” so as ever, please be mindful and kind to other moor users.

I would grade these tracks as intermediate so should be enjoyed by the great majority.

I hope you enjoy the edit and thanks for watching.
I would greatly appreciate your comments and please like and subscribe as it really does make all the filming and editing worthwhile.

  2. Your videos give me the motivation to go out on my bike. I'm still very new to mountain biking but I'm really starting to enjoy it. I went up Holcombe brook this morning at 7.30am. I felt great after it. Not feeling to great now though after eating a 14 piece KFC family bucket 😕😕. I think I'll have a go at rivington soon. Another really enjoyable video! Keep them coming 👍

  3. Not been up Rivi for a good 6 months. Did my rotator cuff left shoulder coming off down San Marino last September. Just recovering from that and fell at work a month ago and fractured 8 ribs and also a punctured lung. They say it comes in 3s so I'm going to watch your vids for a while and pick my routes. Have contemplated selling my bike a few times in the down days recently and packing it all in. Watching this has inspired me to get back up the hill. I live down at the bottom near the Beehive roundabout so my local routes and know them all so well. I'll get up soon when recovered fully maybe get myself a bit of body armour and a full face though the way my luck's been as I ride alone and seem to be so accident prone. Must be the old age creeping in, 58 in July. Thanks for posting this and especially at this pace which is about my maximum, I've done these routes many times but great to get another's sensible take on getting down in one piece. I'll try and take heed whenever I get up there next.
