I JUST picked this odd thing up a few hours ago at a swap meet for $25.
Through research, I learned this is a skatebike that was a bit of a niche fad in the 1980's. Even had a deal with MTV at one time.

It's in decent shape, although the tire was flat, and upon pumping it up, I can see it's pretty cracked, but still usable. I am pretty sure I can get a replacement as its a standard kids tire. After giving it a couple minutes of TLC, I am spending time learning on this weird thing. Due to the skateboard wheels, it's a road only contraption. Luckily, my town just replaced our pothole ridden roads in the past couple weeks, so it's nice to have fresh pavement for something like this.

It doesn't ride like a unicycle, according to unicycle forums…and it DEFINITELY doesn't ride like a bicycle. I feel sore in places I've never felt before (and I'm a long distance touring bagger). Took one spill so far. It seems like a fun little thing though, and if I get it down, I'll be the talk of the town (my town is like 100 people, so everyone will notice). 😅

Anyone else ever had/currently have one of these? From my research, they were well regarded by those who could ride them. However, they seem stupid to those that couldn't.
