This is at least the 4th drivetrain that’s been on this bike. I rode it stock for a short while after buying it from the original owner, then put drop bars and SRAM 1×10 w/ 11-42 cassette on it and ran that for a couple years. Later I put those parts on a new build and for a while ran Acera 8 spd that I had lying around, with the stock flat bar. Now I’ve got a different bar and just swapped to a SRAM X9 long cage with X7 shifter, running a 10 spd 11-36 cassette.
Couldn’t find a Garmin mount that worked with these bars or stem so I designed and 3d printed one. The front splitter for the canti brakes was in the way of the mounting hole in the fork so I swapped it to v’s, need to get universal levers so I can use long pull on the front and keep the short pull out back. Now I just gotta find a rack and basket I like. I’d like to strip and paint it but I love the original stickers.
