Reposting because I didn't get an answer other than use a washer, which doesn't really solve the problem.
Do you think this will cause rubbing on the frame when a chain is installed? Seems like something may have been incorrectly installed. Running a microshift H10 on a Shimano parallax fh-rm60 8 speed hub.
Double checked it was put together correctly. I cranked the cassette in as far as it would go with a chain whip. Also verified there is no washer behind the cassette. Just seems abnormal

The distance seems perfectly fine, I would run it. Also, what do you mean by cranking the cassette down with a chain whip? The only way to tighten a cassette is with the cassette lockring.
