This is an Evil Chamois Hagar on FB marketplace near me for $2000. Force 11 speed hydro, Stan’s carbon wheels, Ritchey carbon bars. 2022 model with 200 miles. Only problem is it’s a large frame & I’m 5’10”. Reach & stack seem to be about the same as my fat bike, but I’d only have about 150mm of seat post, so the dropper would have to go. Do I just go for it, see how it feels, then part it out and sell the frame?

Way too big bro, just don’t. The stem is as short as it gets. I mean you can ride it but it’s way too big for comfort

Don’t. Plenty of nice bikes on sale right now. Get what works for you, don’t try to make something wrong fit.

Why do I need to talk some sense into you? That’s your other half’s job! Buy that thing!

    5. You are right at the bottom of the manufacturers size chart for an L—which means that its a lower probability of a good fit vs. The M.

I would pass, as other said there are a lot of great deals on components in particular out there, so parting the bike probably isnt a good option.

    6. It will be way too big with the extra reach of the drop bars. Always size down a frame size if running drop bars.

    7. On the Evil website it says size L fits 5’10 to 6’4 but reach of 440 is pretty nuts.

    8. I’m like a little below 6 foot (181cm) and at least by Giant’s measurements I’m an M/L, both shops I’ve been at have said L would be too big for me. I do have a very high inseam though I believe, not sure how that factors into it.

One thing worth mentioning is that if this is 1x (I think that’s what I’m seeing?), consider how much you want to be climbing and how fit you are. I have Rival 1x which should be the same gearing, 11-42 and 40 crank isn’t a whole lot of granny gear for steep climbs

these are fundamentally weird bikes, even by gravel standards.

it’s not really a gravel bike. it’s a skinny tire, drop bar, rigid enduro MTB.

    10. I did this exact thing and it didn’t work. The chamois runs big. Was barely on the cusp of two sizes and the bigger one was too big. Super dope bike though.

My BF has a Chamois Hagar. He’s 6’1″ and rides a large. 32″ inseam. He hasn’t done any changes to the stock components (other than new tires). Describing the bike to folks, he says it’s like a drop bar MTB. It’s great on singletrack and loose gravel but not the most efficient on the road.

I’m 5’4″ and have ridden it a little bit with the dropper down and it is a looooong bike.
