2003 Specialized Sirrus- left crank arm is completely flaccid/spins freely. right side still turns the crank set. A friend lent me tools for a bottom bracket replacement/ taking the crank set down but what exactly is broken here? by ivan927 Bicycling Bike Bike Repair Biking Cycling Repair
BamiSchijf__ on October 5, 2024 10:22 pm I’ve seen this happen with shimano before, i don’t know the problem exactly but i would just remove the cranks to see what the damage is
syntheticassault on October 5, 2024 10:32 pm It could be broken in the bottom bracket or the left crank could be stripped, but I would think that would result in the crank falling off.
Working-Promotion728 on October 5, 2024 10:38 pm Most likely the square hole in the left arm is no longer square but round. The only way to fix that is to replace the crank arm which is pretty cheap.
SoundEnvironmental57 on October 5, 2024 10:43 pm Was there any play in the crank arm prior to this happening?
