My 42T Chain ring along with my 175mm cranks need to be replaced. I think my BB is an external diamond fit, but I don’t know the proper term.

What brands and/or retailers should I look at for a good budget replacement? Basically something that’s good quality but still on the cheaper end. I see a lot more 170mm cranks, but don’t necessarily want to mess up the good thing I had going on 175m. I’m 5’11.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I’m a mountain biker who doesn’t know a lot about road bike components, I ride single speed casually for fun and love the simplicity. Bonus points foe components with some color options.

Miche pistard 2.0 just make sure to tighten the chainring bolts when you get it

Do you want to continue running a 42T chainring or do you want a bigger chainring?

The standard BCD of a track chaining is 144 which can barely accommodate 42T

Sugino RD2 is a very nice 130 BCD crank that can easily accommodate chainrings +/- 42T

If you want a 144 BCD track crank, go with the Andel Standard track crank, there’s no better value

  3. You need to find out if your bb has Italian or English threading, i believe is called. And the next one needs to be the same.
Proper mechanic will tell, or are you going to fix it yourself?
