    1. Crazy to think Kipchoge broke his own world record only 2 years ago. SO much has happened since then. Kiptum hadn’t even run his first marathon yet and wasn’t on anyone’s radar. Nine months ago, who would have guessed that neither (or Bekele) would get an Olympic medal? Insane.

    2. I first ran the Berlin Marathon in 1984. Around 7,297 finishers, a printed program booklet and a printed certificate in the mail. A few Deutschmarks entry fee. Moving to 2024. 205 Euros entry and 50,000 runners = EUR10,250,000. I sincerely hope that a little bit of money was left over for the organizer after the race, given that there were also quite a few sponsors. Races like these are now really only affordable to hip surgeons and lawyers and not running enthusiasts like myself.

    3. Hey, I like your content but was really disappointed that the focus was just on the men's marathon, especially when the women ran 2h16 to win the race. Would have great to have equal coverage of both races, particularly when womans sports need support and promotion amongst the sporting community.

    4. No body with the talent and work to break Kelvin Kiptum record. Not now maybe in future. It will take a very talented hardworking athlete to break that record. If kelvin was alive most likely he would have lowered that record to even under 2hrs. We were waiting to see him race in Berlin. May he RIP.

    5. My hypothesis why Kipchoge didn't run was due to health scares. While he's getting older, the training for the olympics might've injured him to the point that he might need a longer time to recover.
