Have been commuting on and loving this early 90s r400 lately. Decided to brave the overcast skies this morning and unfortunately copped an Australian storm on my head. Was still an enjoyable ride even if I rocked up to work saturated.

Currently running a 25 up front and a 23 in the rear (idk either it came with those tyres) gonna put a 25 in the rear (don’t think 28 will fit) and a 28 in the front. Hopefully that will make it more comfortable.

I’ve been keeping my eye out to find a similar period cannondale MTB or frame that can take 32s at least but haven’t found any local yet. I wanna make a comfy klunker out of old cannondale alloy, love these frames.

    1. Awesome! It’s xbiking if it’s in a warehouse 😉 I’m getting excited about my Cannondale SR400, about the same as yours but a few years older. They are awesome. I also just put on 25/23c since I had a reasonably matched set of tires except width, though I can’t tell looking at it. I expect if you find a touring bike it would fit 32c.
