    1. After cracking an Aluminium Orbea I bought upon arrival (another Spanish brand), I set about salvaging all the parts from that build I could, and transferring them to this gorgeous frame I found in my size for €60. It’s the first bike I’ve actually ‘built’ in years, starting just from the frame and making do without my full toolkit too. I upgraded a few parts (new brakes, wheels, tyres ofc) but primarily managed to recycle the old!

There’s still a few finishing touches to apply (a shorter BB so I don’t have to run the chain ring on the inside of the spider, a far nicer saddle I will pick up from the UK soon, an 8-speed derailleur) but I’m so happy with how this turned. Getting a late 80’s/early 90s frame back on the road, especially such a nice one from a lesser-known local manufacturer has felt great.

I’ve done a few shorter track/road journeys on it this week, but going for a proper 40mi trip into the mountains tomorrow. Hopefully, it’s as comfy and fun as it has been on the short journeys!
