Hello! As someone who knows nothing about bikes, I’m hoping you can help me on my quest to gather more info for the police on the theft of my partner’s BMX.

We have security camera footage of the group that stole my partner’s bike and then, a few days later, we got a tip with photos of someone riding what appears to be one of the bikes in the security footage. To be clear, the bike in the tip photos is not our bike that was stolen, but is very similar to one an accomplice is riding.

Before I hand over the tip photos to the police, I wanted a sanity-check from folks who actually know bikes: do you think this could be the same BMX? Obviously the pink pegs in the security footage are on the front of the bike rather than the back, but I’m assuming they’re easy to change? What do you think?

To me, the bike in the tip photos looks more like the blue bike being ridden by the first guy in the orange hoodie rather than the second, but curious what others think.

    2. Impossible to say unfortunately, the overhead cam bike looks black and has a rear v/brake, the tip photos looks blue and brake isn’t possible to tell. So yeah honestly it’s inconclusive here

    3. Grainy camera photos from 20 feet away leave zero chance for identification. Unfortunately there is no way to identify the bike.
