They're not Nazis because they lost and systemically brainwashed for generations. The Berlin wall freed them from the Soviets but they've never been let go completely. Their occupiers let you in and threaten them with life sentences if they say anything about how their open air prison is run.

It had nothing to do with the color of your skin, Germans are unbearable with being recorded in the public space. Police are often called in on you by pedestrians if you're taking photos or video and don't delete the images. The police can rarely do anything as the law isn't so clear cut as to say that you can't record people but there are some situations where you can't. It's a fucking nightmare to record and photograph in Germany regardless of the color of your skin.
