Currently riding a 2021 Giant Revolt 1 (aluminum frame).

I’m considering upgrading to carbon wheels, carbon seat post, and carbon handle bar. I’m hoping lighter equals faster. Does it make since to upgrade to upgrade try entire gearing system ?

Or does it make sense to get a new bike that’s already upgraded and carbon.

    1. I think all of those are sound upgrades that you can bring over to new bike when you decide to upgrade later. Less so for weight and more importantly for comfort. Better comfort = longer, faster riding.

If you’re entirely focused on weight savings, the frame is usually the easiest/cheapest place to save weight.
