They themselves have destroyed the monarchy with their stodgy policies.
Harry and Meghan are loved more than the rest because they are genuinely kind and caring.

William has none of the redeeming qualities people want in a king. His open hostility towards his blood brother, his disdain and contempt for his sister-in-law presents a public image of a cold, cruel man. His wife has not softened that image which is a role a future queen must undertake. Think his great grandmother the Queen Mum. Why do the Wales believe they will be embraced by the public when they have no qualms about projecting such open nastiness? The world wants to see an older brother display a genuine love toward his only sibling with whom he shared the tragic loss of their mother at such a young age, especially Harry. Princess Diana is still remembered as an authentic and caring member of the royal family. Harry carries on her legacy. William does not. He represents a stiff uncaring image which is in stark contrast to what even the late Queen Elizabeth II exuded. It’s also why King Charles is not held in the same regard. The same goes for Camilla who is considered petty and displays such a superior attitude. People want better from them. And they don’t get it.

My thoughts are as follow:
First: The RF needs to stop using H&M to improve its standings in the court of public opinion. Much like the late Princess Di, H&M have cemented their place with the public with their charitable works and the authenticity of their interactions.
Second: The Doolittles could do something meaningful to help the UK's people, especially when they're being asked to make sacrifices such as donating a portion of that undeserved salary increase to pensioners who will be forced to go without sufficient heat. At the same time, the Doolittles are comfy in their homes. Indeed, that would generate a buzz and have people attend where Will-dolittle deigns to make an appearance.
Third: The Doolittles could stop leaking/feeding negative stories to the rota in a neverending stunt to one-up H&M. That's usually a failure before it ever launches. They could do something to benefit the homeless population, which I saw firsthand when I visited London last summer.
Fourth: Stop mimicking H&M as it makes the Doolittles look both foolish and desperate, which isn't a good look for the future king and queen.
Fifth: H&M aren't their competitors and don't want to be. They're simply living their lives as they see fit. The Doolittles could copy that one aspect- live their lives without imagining that H&M is the monster they must slay. The Doolittles are competing where they don't need to, making them look silly when they're, in fact, the future heads of the RF, whereas H&M aren't.
Sixth: It's a churlish look for future monarchs with so much to be envious of those with less.
It’s really disheartening to see Prince William’s popularity dwindle as it appears to be doing so. I had high hopes for the both of them as Princess Diana’s offspring, but William has transformed into something unrecognizable or at least a far cry from what was expected of him. Lastly, I do believe that things might turn around for him if he reconciles with his brother.
