    1. I think I’ve finished making modifications for now. No name steel frame which I bought as a cheap complete to learn fixed gear riding and bike mechanics. I really like riding fixed, my Brompton feels like cycling an asthmatic cake now.

Yesterday I finally cut the steerer tube to remove the stack of washers. I’ve replaced a lot of the components, really only the headset, wheels and hubs are original and that may have to change in future. Front brake also original with a new white cable housing.

List of bits for those who like lists of bits:

      – Nitto Bullmoose bars
      – Nitto 20mm steel spacer
      – Yoshida track grips, black sparkle
      – Andel 165mm cranks (144 bcd)
      – Shimano 68×110 bottom bracket
      – Miche 49t chain ring
      – KMC gold chain (wide)
      – EAI 17t cog with 1mm spacer to get chain line straight
      – Dura Ace lock ring
      – Panaracer Gravelking 28mm tyres (coming out as 26mm on these rims)
      – Brooks C15 saddle with cutout
      – Setback seatpost from Amazon
      – MKS GR9 pedals (a little narrow, going to try MKS urban platforms)
      – MKS toe clips, L

Really enjoy this bike. Took it on a long ride (for me, 42km) yesterday up and down some major hills which was exhilarating and exhausting. The Brooks rubber saddle manages to be the hardest thing I’ve ever sat on whilst absorbing bumps beautifully and keeping one’s soft bits comfortable. Massive fun.
