The result of my attempt to not buy a fancy new gravel bike. Ive done plenty of wrenching but this was my first time building a bike from the frame up. I tried to keep things cheap and use the parts bin or get things second hand (apart from one little order to Velo Orange, I succeeded).

The 1994 Bridgestone XO-3 was the only XO built around the 700c wheel size, which is kind of cool. I think I could fit up to a 47mm tire on this frame but I will ride mostly road and light gravel on it for now so went with 35mm gravelkings. Went with a 46/30 VO crankset to keep the square taper bb on there and get more modern gearing. 11-36 10 spd cassette on the rear… Shimano bar end friction shifters… XT rapid rise derailleur cause why not go full Petersen on a Bridgestone frame? Was fun to build it up!
